PlattSeniorLiving is proud to be known as the hidden gem of senior living on Long Island. Conveniently located in Western Nassau County, our community is just minutes from Queens County, major parkways, and the Long Island Rail Road. A new train station connection on Hempstead Turnpike, near UBS Arena, will soon make public transportation even more accessible for our residents and their families.
For over a century, PlattSeniorLiving has served seniors as a nonprofit organization, offering exceptional value through our high-quality amenities, supportive services, and vibrant lifestyle. Many older adults initially choose to stay in their own homes, but this can sometimes lead to loneliness, isolation, and faster physical or cognitive decline. At PlattSeniorLiving, we encourage residents to stay engaged through group activities like games, live music, arts and crafts, trips, and social events that help spark new interests and create lasting friendships. Research shows that connection and activity are powerful ways to improve health and longevity — something we take seriously in our community.
PlattSeniorLiving serves independent, self-directing seniors age 55 and over who can walk, with or without a walker, at least 150 feet. Our mission is to support every resident’s well-being through personalized case management, oversight from a nurse supervisor, care provided by trained nurse aides, and access to therapists and doctors. Our dedicated recreation staff keeps life fun and fulfilling, while our Executive Chef and culinary team prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that meet residents’ health needs.
Residents benefit from a wide range of programs focused on exercise, art, music, cultural events, intergenerational visits, education, and community service — all designed to nurture both physical and emotional health. We also work with long-term care insurance providers, such as John Hancock, to make monthly maintenance more manageable. Veterans and their spouses are warmly welcomed, and our case managers assist eligible residents in starting the VA benefits process, which can help cover part of their monthly costs depending on need.
